Newsletter April 15th

Dear 4B Families,

Holy Week has arrived. Much of our focus this week will be related to Holy Week events and study. During our Mass on Wednesday we will bless the items we have been collecting for our outreach.  Thank you for your donations to help those less fortunate! ZZ2857D2C7

Thank you for sending in items for this collection by Wednesday at the latest:

  1. For St. Vincent de Paul Society: Canned/non-perishable food.
  2. Lunches of Love. Only about half of the students have brought in a lunch.  Thank you for taking time to put one together.  All students should have brought home a decorated brown bag to use for the lunch.

On Thursday we will meet with our Faith Families to celebrate Holy Thursday together. Friday is a “No Tech day” for the entire school.  We will be focusing on activities related to Good Friday and Holy Week as we prepare for Easter.  At 11:00 we will gather in the church for The Stations of the Cross. We will be dismissing in silence following both the Holy Thursday Faith Family event and the Stations of the Cross. We will also dismiss in silence at the end of the day. Thank you for helping support this action of respect as you pick up your children. Perfect uniform is required on Wednesday and Friday this week.

Class Pictures will take place on Tuesday, April 30th.  All students were given a picture envelope last week.  We would like them all turned in by Friday this week.  If you have not seen the envelope, please check your child’s filer.

Flat Stanley: Be sure Flat Stanley comes along on your Spring Break adventures.  It might be a vacation, a trip to Costco, a haircut, dinner out, bike ride….be creative!

Mystery Book Report: We will be going over the project in class on Monday in detail The students will come home with a blue information sheet about the book report as well.  We would like each student to have a mystery book selected and approved before Friday.  This will give them a chance to start reading over the break.  Students are asked to select a book they have never read.  It needs to be a true mystery with detectives, clues, etc.  Mrs. Weythman will go over some of the options in our library time this week and I have a nice selection in my classroom as well that the students can borrow.  Please read over the blue direction sheet carefully with your child. Let me know if you have any questions. You can also access the information about the project here Mystery Book Report.

ZZ47D3E10FHomework:

  • There is no spelling test this week.  The words for the week of April 29-May 3rd will be sent home on Thursday.
  • We will be having a math test this Wednesday or Thursday on fractions. Homework on Tuesday night will be a review test.  We will also do a full review in class.  Thank you for checking over your child’s work for accuracy and assisting with corrections.

Wishing you all a blessed
