Newsletter February 18

February 18, 2016

Dear 4B Families,

I hope you all enjoyed President’s Day/ Winter Break. It was nice to have the extra days to get a few things done around the house, and prepare for the busy weeks ahead.

I would like to extend a big thank you to all of the parents and that helped out and contributed supplies for our Valentine’s Day party last Friday. A special thanks to our room parent, Kimberly Tish. A great time was had by all! I also want to send out a very special thank you to all of the students and families for the sweet valentines and lovely goodies I received.

Just a few reminders for this short week:

Spelling: There is a spelling test this Friday the 19th. The spelling words are plurals. Along with the list words the students will need to be able to apply the rules to some non-spelling words as well.

Social Studies: The rivers and lakes of the United States test will take place next Friday the 26th. All students will receive an additional study sheet in this Wednesday the 17th. Don’t forget about the online practice site for this test on the 4A website under map skills called “River and Lake Review”.

Science: For the next two weeks we will be reviewing our unit on energy. Look for a study guide and all lab sheets to be in your child’s filer tomorrow. We will go over the study guide together tomorrow and the test will be next Wednesday, February 24th.

Flat Stanley: The students should have all brought home their Flat People and journals last Thursday. I will be having the students bring in their journals before spring break so I can check on their progress and give any tips or suggestions. The flat people are always welcome to come to school for a day and hang out. I am happy to take pictures during the visit. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the project.

Have a great week!
